I am thinking about taking herbs to bring my system back into alkaline balance. And once I get better, then incorporating foods that are alkaline gradually. I am very ill at this point and need immediate and drastic results. What kind of doctor could treat/diagnoise this suspected condition?

it would be better, as you say to go to a doctor, the specialist on this subject is a nutritionist, if he can't help you out, he will know where to send you for help... automedication is never the best answer, specially with herbs, because some of the components in natural medicine are not specified and you may be allergic or hipersensitive to some...

I would not take Nature's sunshine herbs for alkalinity. I am a registered nurse and I have a DVD from an oncologist from John Hopkin's hopsital that researched Himalayan Goji juice and balancing your PH, the results are amazing. You can go to youtube.com and type in goji, the DVD should come up to view. If you would like more info and not waste your money of herbs that have synthetic components, let me know. I check my PH everyday with the goji and it is 7.25. My e-mail is angiecamz@triad.rr.com

You must have a reason for suspecting that your pH is out of balance. Your system needs to be slightly alkaline and you will not enjoy that condition if you consume lots of coke or other soda type drinks and eat meat to excess. Vegetables and most fruit provide you with the type of balance you need. Herbs are normally taken in small quantities so it seems that they will have little effect in helping to achieve what you expect. Go see your GP and ask for help. We on the internet do not have enough information to be able to help you.

acupuncture will balance your body. just make sure that you see one that is from the east.
The herbs from some of these places can have harmful effects, and an acupuncturist will tell you what you should be taking.
Good Luck getting better!
