Why not cut out a clover from cardboard? You could make two the same shape and then use strips of cardboard to tie it together and make a three dimensional space. You could paint or chalk it like stone and maybe have green shutters and door. Put a pot of gold on top like a chimney. Maybe use a pizza box or something bigger depending on the size you need.
Just some ideas to work with, use your imagination crafts should be fun and your son will have a great time making something with you. You cut out the shapes and he can decorate them.
Good luck.

I think it'd be funny if he decorated the whole house in a color OTHER than green, just to mess with the teacher. If she questions him, have him tell her this particular leprechaun is an anarchist.

Almost like a shoe , a leprechaun shoe is like a elf shoe i think. Just everything green is always helpful. Good luck to you and your little one.

I would think something like Frodo's house in Lord of the Rings or where the Teletubbies live. Here are some others.

Actually, we adults are handicapped because our marvelous God given imaginations have been warped over time and told it was bad, so I suggest you ask a creative teen neighbor, a youth just a tad bit older than your son, etc, you might be surprised at their prolific answers, Also might ask a drama stage person who creates scenes etc.

I would picture something like a tree-house... kinda like the Keebler Elves. Or maybe like a mushroom... Like the Smurfs?
