Do you think current deficit spending should be curbed to avoid passing massive debts to future generations of taxpayers?

These are just a few examples of what causes the US deficit to inflate:

1. US imports more than it exports.

2. Cost of health care to people who have no health insurance.

3. Government spending more money than it takes in.

4. Increase in taxes, reduces the spending by the working man, which means layoffs in the factory cause no body can afford to buy anything.

5. Welfare programs and pork barrel projects that elected officials pad on to bills that we need.

Reagan had the right idea, just like JFK. Give the working man more of his own money, let them spend it on what they need, which puts more people to work, and thus increases the taxes collected. But you also have to be wary of government spending.

First thing you will here is " save money, pull out of Iraq". My question is, how much will it cost the taxpayer cleaning up after multiple attacks on American soil??? Because we know that soon as we leave, if the job is not finished, the full menu of terrorists will be dealing out whole sale slaughter on our streets, and just like 911, the Federal Government paid the biggest part of the bill, or should I say, taxpayers.

Deficit spending should always be curbed. And its virtually never curbed. One of the reaons that the general populace always has such little faith in Congress.

to those saying blame Clinton. I am not Bill fan but you cant blame a president. while they are partially responsible, its Congress who ultimately has control of the money.

first of all, let's clear one thing out of the: a_bush_family- you dont answer the question, you just go off about clinton (whom you should be praising)

second off, i'm against deficit spending. especially with our country's high unemployment rate (which was lowest in the past 30 years under clinton, but bush managed to screw that up too).

although it does have its plus side, it seems that the country is not in the rate state to continue to apply it

Blame Clinton? How didn't he leave office with a few trillion extra dollars in the coffers?

I think it is well known that part of the conservative philosphy is to purposefully bankrupt the national government. I mean isn't this what they always do,. Why else would the admisitration simultaneously launch a multi trillion dollar war and cut taxes at the same time.

first, for all you clinton lapdogs, he had a projected surplus. never did the revenue pass up the the yearly debt. bush is paying down the national debt as we speak. sorry i dont have the exact numbers, but his tax cuts are working just like they did for reagan and jfk.

Here's a news flash: it's too friggin' late! Bush's "budget" will ultimately bankrupt America. And it's likely unstoppable.

Yes. Clinton's actions caused our national debt to increase.

BLAME CLINTON & ILLEGAL ALIENS FOR DEBT and lower family incomes. Because of Clinton, China's GDP is growing 250% faster than the U.S.'s. Goldman Sachs predicts China will replace the U.S. as the number one economic giant . (http://www.the-global-institute.org/act/2006conference/Linn%20-%20Economic%20growth.ppt

Both China and illegal aliens slow tax revenue growth. They are causing the lowering of family incomes for middle class Americans. Blame Clinton for China being in the WTO which is causing a record growing trade deficit. That trade deficit is resulting in the undermining of the middle class which is slowing tax revenue growth.

Clinton has seriously damaged the U.S. economy. Because of Clinton the trade deficit with China will top $1 trillion a year within 10 years. Clinton pushed the U.S. to agree to having China join the World Trade Organization. China is causing the loss of high paying U.S. jobs. And illegal aliens are undermining increases in family incomes. Clinton has caused China's economy to explode with growth and our trade deficit to explode. The HIGH OIL PRICES are due to China's growing demand for oil which did not exist ten years ago.

About Mexico: A non-biased report said illegal aliens take 1/3 of all new jobs created in America. That dilutes wages and puts Americans out of work. The real unemployment rate(u6) for the U.S. is running at over 7%.
