You seem to think that it would be possible to buy an adult, but you'd rather buy an egg.

Not going to happen. Neither penguin eggs or adults are for sale anywhere.

You shouldn't buy your girlfriend a live animal, does she know how to care for it, does she even want a live one. Why don't you just get her a really cute stuffed penguin. And if you got the egg, you wouldn't be able to hatch it, you know, they have to have the daddy penguin sit on the egg til it hatches. And even after that you would have to eat fish, then regurgitate it so the baby penguin can eat it out of your mouth, thats what they do...so that would be pretty gross..
you should never buy a person a live animal as a gift.

You are lacking in brain capacity, yes?

Penguins require specialist treatment. If you even managed to acquire an egg you would kill the potential chick inside.

She's 16 for gawds sake, just buy her a giant Penguin doll!

I think it is illigeal in US and Canada to buy penguin eggs or even have one at home. Also eggs do not just grow in to healthy penguins. You need to incubate it in a proper controlled enviromnet to get a baby at the first place.

As a wildlife carer I have had penguins at home. I don't think you realize that these cute little things are very messy, very smelly, and incredibly expensive to maintain. Since you have very limited resources maybe you should get creative and make your girly a gift? Sometimes handmade things, given from the heart are more valuable to the recipient than anything you could possibly buy!

You are 16... Don't have any money...

You and/or your girlfriend don't need ANY pet - especially not a wild animal that is illegal to possess as a pet... that you would have no idea how to feed, what temp. to keep its environment - have you ever gone to a zoo and seen the elaborate penguin exhibits - got one in your house, do ya?

Buy her a stuffed penguin b/c you aren't getting a egg or anything remotely close to a real one.

you're joking, right? Penguins are not pets. Try a stuffed animal.

You could try the black market they usually have them. I once bought a baby vulture off of them.
