I have seen several critiques, mainly negative.
There are some sources from the CATO institute that illustrate these shortcomings. I'm not pushing anyone for a decision, but some sources say that even if we accept global warming as fact that it's over the top.
There has never been an established link between global warming and severe weather. (CATO) Some people have even stepped down from their posts because this link is a misconception used for fear-mongering. An Inconvenient Truth cannot be expected to be any better; the movie's cover has a hurricane coming out of a smokestack.

Then, once we accept global warming, we have to look at his projections. His projections are supposedly 2000 percent off of even the UN's projections for global warming, no matter how improbably those projections are.

The whole movie's threat is based around tidal waves and rising global sea levels, but even though we have been dumping more carbon into the air in the past 60 years, sea level rises are smaller than they were earlier in the century.

Whether you believe in global warming or not, an Inconvenient Truth seems to exaggerate the problem to an unbelievable extent.

I was going to ask this same question but I see that you already did. I too am in the market for something like a good rebuttal website.
Al Gore's suggestion that the Greenland ice cap is going to slough off into the North Atlantic in one sweep, like the Larsen B ice shelf seems poorly substantiated.
Although receding glaciers are globally outpacing advancing glaciers (I think), he fails to acknowledge that there are advancing glaciers, and for me to think for one second that he is being scientific (and rising above partisan politics) he definitely needs to be more complete with his information.
At no time does he challenge the American consumer to examine their own consumptive habits. Like a true democrat social engineer, he talks about instituting policies to force everyone to do the right thing, forcibly prevent everyone from doing the wrong thing. I see that classic liberal disease that de-emphasizes individual morality in the struggle to make the world a better place.
And where is the Mt Pinatubo eruption on Al Gore's CO2 graph, which occured in the early nineties? I also heard that plant growth worldwide is defined not only by the availability of rainfall, nitrogen, and sunlight, but by CO2 also. Plants grow faster in an environment with increased CO2.
I do not criticize the seemingly over-consumptive habits of a celebrity like Mr. Gore -- such people need more because they do more. I admit that their time and energy is more valuable than most to those who support their causes and all that. But, I would expect a guy like that to have solar panels, maybe a windmill, energy-saving lightbulbs, and such.

Al Gore is a hypocrit. He's a rich spineless politician (the same as them all, whether D's or R's follow their name is irrelevant) telling ME what to do and how to live. He wants me to save the world and preaches his schtick in a movie and sells worldwide...but what about him? I'm sure everyone's heard by now that his electric bill is 12x of the average consumer in one month. How about his Carbon Credits though...ever wonder about them? Ever wonder who sells them and how to get them? Look it up...the answer is a hoot. It was like the Church selling Penance and Forgiveness back in the 1800s, and we all know how a good church-hatin' gets everyone fired up.
I'm just curious...is it because you bamboozled millions of people into going to your movie that you're right, or do you have solid evidence to support your claims Mr. Gore? I would think that sound, solid evidence making his own point valid would lead him to practice exactly what he preaches...after-all, nearly all of us subscribe to our own standards and beliefs everyday, and in many instances (I like to think) we're not going to do something because our friends liked it, or our bosses thought it was raise-worthy or because you were going to exploit the good-intentions of millions of people actually making a difference in the world and teaching others about the importance of our environment and it's protection without the prospect of any financial gain...right?
Here are some details on Bushitler's ranch in Texas:

What is it they say? "Practice what you preach"? Maybe he'll gain a real audience when he actually prescribes himself to the same standards as the rest of us.
