I'm thinking about buying it and I need peoples opinions about the game.

It is basically like the Grand Theft Auto series.
You can do what you want, when you want, where you want.
The open-land is what attracts people.

The open world makes it a fun game, but I would not put it on a level with GTA. While there are many subquests, they start to repeat themselves when you open up more territory, and I think the driving mechanics could be better. When I finally found a jump, it took several tries to make the car stay on the ramp for long enough to make it. Even then, it wasn't all that impressive when I accomplished it. I thought the game was good for maybe 20-30 hours if not less, then I got bored and traded it in.

Get Mercs 2. It has an (almost) 100% destructible environment.
