People get a kick out of making a slick comment without being seen. Online communication lets people say what they want without things like body language or ethnic background get in the way. If I approached someone and asked a personal question, then they would probably react in a negative way.

In the ideal world, there are the answerers and the askers, both helping each other by sharing experiences and knowledge.

Because they are internet nerds.They feel inferior in life so they lash out on the net where no one can see them...or they just like seeing their own name.It happens all the time to me...30 mins. ago actually.Like,I ask where I can find a Nietzsche costume and they tell me something like,"He was not for traditional holidays,so I would just wear my own clothes."If they don't want to answer,they should just step away from the keyboard.I'd rather no answer than a dumb or opinionated one.
