selling world of warcraft accounts for money?

hey how does selling your accont work and how do you know how much it is worth, why do other people want to buy it.. im just curious and would like to know, also is world of warcraft the only game that people are selling there acconts any info would be awsome thanks

eBay just recently announced that they will no longer allow the sale of World of Warcraft virtual property including accounts and gold. They did this in an effort to quell the rising amount of hacked accounts. Selling your account also violates the Terms of Service set forth by Blizzard.

As far as why people buy the accounts, it is as a previous poster said. Some people don't have the time or the inclination to level a character from scratch and would rather buy one that is a higher (if not maximum) level with decent gear and gold.

Many people sell their accounts via paypal through ebay. Usually they are sold because people are done playing a game and might as well sell their character if its good. Some accounts sell for lots others not, it all depends. One time i saw a guy sell for 5000 dollars another 700 dolars. Other people want to buy it because they dont want to put the time and effort in to get far in a game and just but their way through(not that its wrong or anything) World of Warcraft is not the only game people sell acounts for just look on ebay.

The best bet is to go to IGE.net and browse what they sell, how they sell it, how much stuff sells for and what games they sell stuff for.
