depends on what engine.
if its one of the newer 2.2L Ecotech engines I would probably recommend going to a scrap yard and looking for 2002 cavaliers which I doubt would be there, but usually a scrap yard is the best place to get a cheap engine. Otherwise you could probably just pick up an old saturn and use that engine it would not cost anymore than 1000-1500 being that the only thing of value is the engine because the rest of the car is plastic.

Depends on what you mean by cheap! There are a couple of places that list on the 'web'. Check them out; they ship w/i CONUS.
