Samsung on GSM 850 suck, they have bad reception, but they are REALLY good on GSM 1900. I work for tmobile, and Samsung is our best brand, and Motorola is out worst. That is why you hear so many people on Cingular using Motorola, and so many Samsungs are available through tmobile. For my network, the d807 blows the RAZR out of the water, (i have used one personally) but for Cingular I might recommend the RAZR.

I actually own a razr and I quite enjoy it, however it does have various problems. My fiance owns the samsung and I like that as well, but I would keep my razr no questions asked.

Motorola has a good reputation. I have had three Samsung phones through Sprint over the past 6 years and they SUCK!
3 out of every 4 calls drop and I have to recall the person back multiple times. I went to Srint and they said (and showed me) that the network is strong in my area and that dropped calls are common with the Samsung models.
