I believe that everything we are asked or expected to do by the media is for economic reasons. The system is well aware of how we react, and for what reasons. I just wonder if it is a good thing, or whether it is holding us back from our natural tendency to develop and change over time.

It doesn't dictate, but it has a certain influence.
Like Groucho said "I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book."

I feel the media does a good job of telling us what to think and how we should think. The media can control how we see the world but reporting the angle it wants us to have. many time the media will just show one side of a story or either will slant it to create the emotion desired... it is holding us back from thinking for ourselves. some uf us just accept what ever we see on the tv or we read in the news paper and believe it without question.

it is time to start thinking for ourselves!
