It looks interesting, but there seems to be a lot of Persian resentment towards it on this site

I wonder why American film companies make movies glorifying historic events like this that few Americans understand.

Does watching this movie mean that you support the cause of the Greeks and Spartans involved in this battle? This battle was one of many battles that were fought between various Greek states and Persia. Anyone that sees this movie should do some historic reading to try and understand the motivation of both armies, before going to the theatre and watching what is probably a one-sided account of the battle.

The movie has increased my awareness and curiousity regarding the history and conflicts in that region, but I will not be in the theatre.

It was amazing. I want to see it in Imax the next time. At least the movie is based on true events of our Western Heritage, not like alot of the Garbage out there now. Well Minus the 15 story elephants and the giant they threw in there for fun. But hey no biggie.

Peace,

freaking amazing...omg!
it was awesome...and I'm not just saying that because of the nude scenes...it was a really good movie...definitely go see it.....unless you have a weak stomach, you'll love it...
its very gory and bloody...and yeah the battle scenes did get a little redundant (and by that i mean..the Spartans kicked *** pretty much the whole time, the Persians would run at them and just get owned)...but other than that...yeah, awesome movie

I think it is a perfect recreation of a graphic novel that is praised highly for it's uniqueness. I was stunned by what can be created on film using ble screens. The imagry is quite frankly stunning.

I loved it. It was probably one of the most eye-catching movie I've seen in a long time. Go see it.

And ignore everyone who says it's racist and such.
