Yeah, sometimes. And everything depends on how you phrase it by the way. Giving up is also 'letting go'. Sometimes we need to 'let go'.

Surrender to God. The ego is illusory and has no control. Only God exists and has complete control. We are all helpless. Suffering is universal and has been unresolved for millenia. When we realize that we cannot stop suffering through our own will, then we stop running. Where's the harm in making this realization and "stopping the world" (Carlos Castaneda - "Don Juan")?
