How smug should i feel?
Lloyds tsb just coughed up my backdated charges.. every last penny. They decided to settle rather than face me in court.
Do you think they realise they are crapped on now that we know how much they have been conning us all?

I got back just over £400.
I wrote a total of 4 letters to them which included me starting court action but they backed out before the court date.
The letter i received to day said they chose to settle amicably rather than go to court. because they use the word amicably rather than breakdown of communications etc, it implies goodwill so no reason to close the account.
however i made sure i still had my authorised overdraft to pay off.. if there still due money they wont shut your account. as soon as the cash hits your account withdraw it and pay off your overdraft when you want to.

I agree, the charges are very excessive. £30-£40 just for telling you you're overdrawn, missed a direct debit payment etc. How did you manage to do it without them shutting your account down?
