Being a cubs fan, I have to say Prior will not be on the active list all year, Wood will join him only if Lou uses him too much. The cubs make the playoffs, and finish with a better record then the White sox.
Lou becomes the center of attention as he is very calm through the first half of the season, then breaks out of his shell and rips into the cubs team, which gets them to the playoffs. The Cubs will finish with the 2nd best record in the NL in the second half.

Edgar Martinez will become the first, and only, player who was primarily a designated hitter for the bulk of his career to be elected to the Hall of Fame. (He is not yet eligible, of course.)
The Cubs will not win it all, but they will win enough games to regain respectability. In the process, Lou Piniella with throw a base at least three times in the course of being thrown out of a game.
George Steinbrenner will fire Joe Torre at the end of the season and the Seattle Mariners, having fired Mike Hargrove, will make a serious effort to hire Torre. Ichiro will stay with the Mariners only if Torre is hired.
Barry Bonds will break Hank Aaron's career home run record this year (at home in San Francisco), prompting even more screams of anguish and calls for asterisks due to the steroids accusations. Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard will be the top contenders for the most home runs in the NL this season (and perhaps both will vie for the Triple Crown), however.

Cardinal repeat behind MVP Pujols and Cy-Young Carpenter
Pinella blows his stack as Cubs are 10 games out at the All-Star break
Bonds, shortly after breaking the record, retires, says he's to hurt to play or finds some other reason to not have to do anything

The Pittsburgh Pirates will win the NL wild card, then beat the Mets in the first round of the playoffs and then lose to the Cubs in the NLCS.
OK, just so nobody accusses me of smoking crack, how about a sure thing: Lou Pinella will be ejected from at least 5 games this year.

I predict.....as the swammy on our local sports radio would say, The Cubs just barely miss the playoffs due to injuries and the White Sox trade Joe Crede and Mark Buehrle at the dead line for more pitching prospect because the only one worth while Kenny Williams got this off season was Gio Gonzalez.

1. Barry Bonds will claim to be persecuted because of his race.
2. Several Cubs pitchers will get injured.
3. Boston Red Sox fans will claim that they're underdogs because they have only the *2nd* highest payroll in the majors.
4. Bud Selig will get mauled by a bear.

Chris Young will be a serious Cy Young contender. 3 times last season he took a no hitter in to the 6th inning, one of which went 8 1/3 innings.
