I just got some today and I don't think I can make it. There's just something so GROSS about it. I know plenty of other foods require fermentation but this is just too much for me. If I throw it out am I'm dooming the friendship?

It's the day to add flour and milk.

haha, throw it away if you want.... I promise you won't get cursed or destroy any friendship. Its suppose to be just fun and bread, not a test to see what kind of friend you are!

No you cant freeze Amish bread started , it is going to kill the yeast in in . while you're unlikely to apply it share with a buddy or ask somebody to feed it for you yet do no longer freeze it

I thought the same thing (with professional culinary training) and decided to try it anyway... it's really good.

many foods are fermented or are created in a way that you'd probably think is disgusting if you really knew how it was done.

think yogurt.. sour cream, creme fresche, cheese is aged in mold...

Does she have to know whether you made it or not? You can always just thank her for the thoughtful gift and never use it.

You could thank her and ask her to help you with it because you feel a little overwhelmed by the care it takes.

Good luck!

throw it away and if asked say it was delicious. but you should stop eating any type of bread.. because all bread has some type of fermentation to it-- think sourdough..
just a thought, but you should taste it. i hate focaccia if it makes you feel any better.

i would not throw it out. find some one who would like to have it and just explain to your friend that you could not get around the fact that it has milk and eggs and you do not refrigerate it.
