Check out a Magazine called "Make" www.makezine.com or their sister magazine, "Craft" www.craftzine.com. A recent issue did an article, with instructions on how to make these dolls. They are really fun looking. They have a website, but

The new issue of Knit It! just happens to have a short article on this with two websites listed:
www.gourmetamigurumi.com and www.amigurumikingdom.com that have instructions on this new little sensation.

they're called amigurumi if that helps any. check www.etsy.com; they usually have Japanese books (written in Japanese but they have picture diagrams) on how to make the cute little animals. i wish i knew how to make these little critters too! : )
