There are a lot of fears and thoughts. Mostly, you look at the over-all picture and evaluate the potential for longetivity and happiness.
You have to be realistic yet true to yourself.
It takes time to ge tto know someone, time spent and invested into the person to really know their heart, the temperament, slowly you begin to either not like them that much or love them deeply. That's when you know you can be with him forever!

It didn't take long....I know now if I'd given it time...and IF I'd used my brain, I might have passed on the whole idea of marriage. We were together 13 years (married 11 1/2) and ended with a very angry two people hating each other for a long time. Of course I was freaked out at first....that's what falling in love is, it's a time of total insanity and by the time you take control of your senses, it's too late. Now I know that allowing your hormones to choose your mate is a baaaad decision. But without the hormonal thing going on, I'm not sure a lot of us would ever choose marriage.

It didn't take long at all. The first month after our first date I knew he was the one. I prayed to God every night and talked with my father. I was overseas with the military when I fell in love with my husband.
I do not doubt our marriage ever. Divorce is never the answer.

Had him, lost him, and will regret it for the rest of my life. It didn't take long i knew instantly. It took one look and he took my breath away. then with the following conversations i knew it was never going to be this perfect with anyone else ever again.

i got engaged to my fiancee after dating for only 6 months (and we weren't friends before we started dating..) I have not been freaked out about it at all. We are planning our wedding for August. I am really forward to it.
I say if your freaked out then your aren't 100% confident that he/she is the one...

It took me a while to tell him that I was in love with him, but he was leaving for basic training and I had to tell him before he left, because I didn't think he was even going to end up coming back. So I told him the night before he was supposed to leave (It took him a little while longer!) but now we're married.
