What gas mileage does your car get? If you assume 20 miles per gallon you divide 500/20=25 gallons and at $2.50 a gallon it's $62.50. Just replace the 20 with whatever mpg your car gets or you expect it to get and figure it yourself. The size tank has nothing to do with how much gas you use just how often you stop.

You should get about 18mpg with that thing, or 500 miles with two gallons to spare on one tank.
