He was cheered because of his performance. He went through hell in that match. Most fans know wrestling is fake and enjoy a great performance like the one Orton displayed yesterday.

I don't think that he turned face but it could just be that the Fans are finally tiered of Flair and are not so hot for... um... the other guy... who's name I can't even remember now... lol.

It's most likely because he turned on Edge. Of the two guys, people most likely hate Edge more because of his affair with Lita when she was still Matt's girlfriend.
