In elementary algebra, a trinomial is a polynomial consisting of three terms; in other words, a trinomial is the sum of three monomials.

Examples
1) 3x + 5y + 8n
2) 3t + 9s + 3y
3) 3ts + 9t + 5s

in algebra, stuff like 2x, 5x^2, xy, y^5 etc. are called terms
u say bi-, mono-, tri- or polynomial based on d number of terms. note first that 2x+3x is one term, since it is = 5x
a trinomial has 3 terms e.g. 2x+3y+98z
monomial 1 term (2u), binomial two (2c-g), polynomial more than 3 (4 or more) e.g. 2w+i+8p+y+8u-11b+...

NOTE: terms are separated ONLY by + or -, not * or /

an algebraic equation in which the highest power used is 3 (cube) like
a+2b^2 +c^3

I'm assuming you mean this:

A Monomial (one-number): is like 2x.
A Binomial (two-number): is like (2x-3)
A Trinomial (three-number): is like (5x²+2x-3)
