I am in fact referring to He-Man's age in the cartoon, not as many have interpreted, the age of the cartoon itself.

How old is Prince Adam?
The series began when he was 18, and continued until he was 20. He celebrated one birthday in "The Great Books Mystery" and another in "The He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special." Wouldn't it be nice if anyone could realistically look like that at age 18?

I think most are mis-reading the question. Are you asking how old He-Man himself appears in the cartoon? I don't think you mean when it was created. That's a great question, but I have no idea.

I think it was 22 yrs ago plus what ever age he was then in the cartoon so prob. about 40 yrs by now... I'd do him!!

1983 I think. He was 16. In the first few episodes his father was killed and he took up the fight... that's why Man-At-Arms was around... to make sure he didn't screw up.
Now I feel like a total dork.
