Usually you dont feel like socialising when your marriage has fallen apart, but dont do what I did.....dont hide yourself away from life.....force yourself to go out, even when you dont feel like it......get back into life again as quickly as possible....I say this because your self esteem would have been badly affected and you need to be around people...positive people....You need to be noticed again.....desired again...you need a huge dose of self esteem.....and staying at home does not give that to you....it has the opposite effect.

When you begin to feel like it again.

There's no set time. Some people are up for it immediately, others wait a year. I know of one very special woman that was so traumatized by a betrayal (best friend and husband scenario) that she believes she'll never date again (much less marry).

If you are a man without custody of children, wait at least a year - to figure things out, etc.
If you are a woman with custody of your children, you wait until the youngest one is 18. Time for you to look after your children.

What! Are you kidding. Life is short. When your ex says he or she is moving out. That is when you start dating and having fun again.

Hold on for a few minutes...... (after few minutes)... Ok, go for it. hehe, j/k.... but seriously, it is up to you. Whenever you THINK you are ready then go for it... just date, enjoy your life being single and try not to be involved in serious relationship yet. Bottom line: ENJOY YOUR LIFE, life’s too short!!!

I don't think you need a timeline, just when you feel like you are ready to then do it, doesn't matter of the time.
