In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is a debt collector allowed to speak to the spouse of a Consumer if the spouse is not a signitor of the agreement creating the debt? If so, does the consumer have to give permission first? I'm trying to figure out if a collector is allowed to speak to my wife for a credit card I had before we were married.

While speaking to a spouse is fine with the FDCPA, it is an actionable offense to speak with anyone else about your debt - including neighbors !!

I live in PA. The collector is allowed to speak to your wife. The collector is allowed to speak to anyone who will him recover what is owed.
They sometimes call neighbors to find out if the person owing money is spending money, for new car or remodeling or good times.
