Black is typically the custom color to wear to a funeral or memorial, but it is not a must. As for shoes, just wear some nice dress heels or flats. No tennis shoes, flip flops, or anything similar. Also, make sure that you don't wear anything that will call attention to yourself such as wild or colorful patterns, too much jewelry, or too much makeup. you want to look respectable, but not too overdone.

dont wear anything too flashy. Just some flats or low heals. Whatever you choose I'm sure your teacher would be glad that you cared enough to attend.

As plain and respectable as possible - funerals etc are not there as a fashion parade, rather, as a show of respect for the loved one who has passed.

fanciness is not really neccessary, just dress modestly and comfortably. color is not really a factor any more, i've found
