Older ovens have a stand alone pilot light which can be just lit by using a match. The pilot light will be near the burner on the bottom of the oven underneath the big black plate on the bottom.

Newer ovens have a automatic glow coil or ignitor and if that is bad then it will need replaced. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRY TO LIGHT THIS ONE WITH A MATCH.

Good Luck!

I think you mean the pilot light. This is the small flame on gas stoves and ovens that allow you to light the main burner by only turning the switch. There may be only one pilot for the stove top burners, and it will be located in the center of the burner top. Otherwise there will be one for each burner. If the gas is on then place a match or lighter near the pilot and it will light. The pilot for the oven may have a safety which requires you to depress a button for a minute until the pilot will stay lit. The pilot for the oven will be near the burner for the oven. If you have an oven and a broiler the burner is below the oven and above the broiler. Sometimes there is a bottom to the oven and you must lift this to see the burner for the oven. New appliances do not have pilots, but light electronically.

USA Older stoves - the pilot light for the range top units is below the top cover. Remove the grates at each burner. The top cover pulls up and off the unit. The pilot is in the center of the top of the stove. Make sure you don't have a lot of gas built up in the immediate area, and just light it with a match. If it stays lit, put the cover back on and the grates back in place. If it will not light or will not stay lit, call an appliance repair person.

For the broiler and oven, the pilot is in the bottom of the oven, below the bottom cover. That cover also pulls up for removal. Again, make sure you don't have a lot of gas built up, light the pilot with a match, and put the cover back on.

Your questionisn't quite clear, but if you are meaning the pilot light on the top of the stove, where you cook, then most stoves you just can turn the gas on low, light a match and usually it will light the piot again.Call your local gas company if you aren't sure or feel safe in doing that.

There should be a panel inside at the rear near the bottom on some models. Some older models have a fake lower drawer panel that pulls open to access the ignitor.
