How come it's ok to call a skinny person skinny but its not ok to call a fat person fat??

because i am really skinny and people are like omg you are so skinny your anorexic and i just feel like saying omg you are so fat go on a diet!! lol

That's supposedly ok to call someone skinny but not the other way!!!
It's nonsense - maybe the person who is being called skinny will take that as an insult!!!
I can't understand that one myself really!
I suppose (and i do not mean this in any way insulting to anyone) in our society it's seen as ok to be skinny with this size zero nonsense -
(saying this as most magazines/newspapers have thin people rather the 'normal' women's size of a 12 or 14!!!)

..what are you, slow? Even if a person is comfortable with their weight, it's very rude to call them fat. Being big isn't exactly what people call 'normal'. But being skinny is what some women and men dream of being. People come in many different shapes and sizes. And if people understood that, you wouldn't be asking that question. But I guess that's just how it is..

I agree, I am fat. I don't get offended at the truth, call it what it is an ugly word for an ugly body. However, some people add the word 'pig' to fat, that I get offended at.

It's not polite to do either, but people are much more likely to aspire to being excessively thin or 'skinny' than fat.

I've been both and believe me, people were more cruel when I was skinny then they ever were when I was fat. They thought they were funny, but it was just hurtful.

I doubt most ppl who are too slim would like being called skinny. Slim or slender is ok.

it's not. It's slightly more acceptable... but I always hated being called skinny... it means you have no rack or butt to speak of.
I think that people just don't think it bothers the people they're calling skinny.

I know alot of skinny people who don't like being called skinny. They are skinny, they don't need to called it, they already know they are.

i would rather be called skinny than fat ,i read your other question about your abortion and i really feel for you ,i had an abortion at 15 as well and i am now 33 and i still think about it somedays ,that prick who put that link up should have his balls cut off xxx
