Where I live, we see stories like the one in your 'link' all the time ... but I doubt that many people think that could ever 'happen to them' because they're 'careful' ... and thank you for your 'question' and the 'warning' in it, because if it can save one child from 'going missing' and being harmed, then you've done 'a good job' ... and that is more than most people can say in a place like this forum.

I have spoken to my daughter about the dangers of the internet and she is only allowed to use the internet when I am in the room - she is 11 years old and I sometimes feel a bit mean when her friends have the internet in their bedrooms but I would rather be mean than my daughter just being another statistic! It is very worrying and I feel for the family.

i am a 13 girl in england there has been many rapes aroung my estate and every body knows who it is except the police we have told them but the police no this man so well that they dont believe us . i have to walk past his house 3 times a day so as soon as the 1st rape happened i got my mum to take me in the car. i cry at young rapes or young murders or even young kids that have gone missing i just find it 2 depressing

It shouldnt take a story like that to scare people into being careful! People need to keep a eye on what there kids are doing!!

I have always been careful with my kids and the internet, thats why they DO NOT have a pc in their rooms.

i think its stupid to fall into a trap so common and simple. i wouldnt ever give out any personal info and i definately would never go to meet someone on the internet

i will never meat any one of the intenet i mean you dont know who they are i mean what if they were the reportes id proberbly reported to the police for violating comunity gidlines
