Normally, breastfeeding is the choice because it gives the baby more than bottle feeding does. What the breast produces allows the baby to fight infections better and develop less allergies. Is bottle feeding bad...no, it's the ultimate choice a woman has and only she can make that decision.

My two sons were bottle fed. I was given medication that dried up my breast milk. My breasts were sore and ached a little but that did not last long. Your question of sagging is silly. Would you choose one way over the other because one caused you to sag? I hope not. But to answer your question. no they do not. Think about it...why would they when they shrink back to their normal size almost immediately after birth while breastfeeding engorges your breasts with milk for quite a long time. Which would have the bigger chance of sagging?

I didn't breastfeed. Everything went back to normal in a couple of weeks. The "baby" is now 8 and I am still not sagging..:D

No you don't "have to get rid of the milk"...that is fog and haze sent to you from the breastfeeding nazis.

I didn't breastfeed and I have a son that is amazingly healthy and strong as a horse. He is way over normal height and a healthy. He never had an issue with infecitons or colds and does well in school.

Couple of things you might want to do:

Keep a bra on..try a sports bra as they are a little more comfortable. Ice packs and motrin (yep, I am not one for pain tolerance) worked wonders for the pain.

Until then, you do what you have and want to do. Don't let anyone bully you about breastfeeding - I finally had to tell all the "well meaning mothers" to bugg off (the G rated version) and leave me alone about the breastfeeding issue.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surprisingly, if a woman doesn't breastfeed, she has a greater chance of getting breast cancer. So, you can say that could happen to your breasts if you don't breastfeed.

Breastfeeding also reduces cancer risk in your baby, and reduces diabetes risk. Plus, breastfeeding increases the IQ by at least 10 points, which is highly significant.

I did not breastfeed and they only leaked for a few days. They were very sore but they did not sag and they are not saggy now. My breasts are firm!

They don't sag anymore when you don't breastfeed than when you do. (in fact I know a couple of women who breastfed their children and they sag worse than I do-I opted to NOT breastfeed).
