It is not that great. Fort Worth has a much better zoo.

I've been to the Dallas and the Fort Worth Zoo. If your looking moneywise the Fort Worth Zoo is less exspensive. Dallas has a tram, some little creatures that are made out of copper, and a lot of fountains. I would choose the Dallas Zoo for kids but the Fort Worth Zoo has statues. I overall reccommend the Dallas Zoo.

The Dallas Zoo is a pretty fun zoo to visit. It is a bit smaller then the Fort Worth Zoo but it costs a little less to visit also. $8.75 for adults & $5.75 for children (3-11). You can take the DART Rail to the Dallas Zoo and it lets you out right across from the entrance to the zoo which lets you avoid the parking fee. The admission to the Fort Worth Zoo is $10.50 for adults & $8.00 for children (3-12) although on Wednesday's they do have half-price admission day. That's the best time to visit the Fort Worth Zoo - value wise. Hope that helps!

I'm not a big fan. I went for the first time a week ago, and I took my 2 year old nephew. We hardly saw any animals. It was extremely hilly and pretty boring. They only have 2 giraffes, 2 elephants. I didn't see any big cats, the chimps were off display. They advertise a great kid zoo, but it wasn't great at all. We saw 4 chickens running wild, but there wasn't a petting zoo. I'm really upset that I drove 2.5 hours with a talkative 2 year old for that zoo. It was low quality.

i really enjoyed the dallas zoo, just watch out for escaping gorillas! :) i think they have that problem under control...

i prefer other zoos though. for the fort worth, if you can help it, dont go on wednesday half price day. the money you save is not worth the hassle of finding parking and the big crowds that come. i would gladly pay full price and go another day when i dont have to look at the exhibits with hundreds of other screaming kids.

its really on the low end, approaching boring! the exhibits are set up pretty far apart. once you do get to one, its a natural cage scape (that animals get out of ALL THE TIME and attack people), so youre looking pretty far to see a little fleck of an animal. there are also very small viewing places, so you have to wait in line for a while to get to somewhere you can see from. my kids get bored looking. also, its pretty hot here to go walking around so much for very little reward of an interesting exhibit. go to fort worth. I live in Rockwall, which is east of Dallas. even our school system drives right past the Dallas Zoo and keeps going til it gets to the Fort Worth Zoo. I think that speaks for itself!

It's ok but fort worth zoo or fossil rim animal riserve are much much better. Fossil Rim (if you've never been there) is an area were you can feed animals out of your car, but if you want a little exercise and want to see a greater range of animals then fort worth zoo is better.
Hope I could help

The Dallas zoo is only fun when the tram is running.
