A gay man could always buy his wife a strap on. A gay woman could just toss her husbands salad. I'm not trying to be offensive but you get the best of both worlds that way. You're married and your sexual desires are satisfied.

Just a simple question: I assume you're straight and attracted to women. What is it about a woman that turns you on? Is it her vagina only, and the fact that you can penetrate it?
Of course not- it's much more than that. It's the rest of her body, it's how she smells, how she sounds, a lot of things, much more than just the sum of her genitals and the kinds of sex you can have with her.
A woman using a strap-on on a man is FAR different from male-male sex, though it may look somewhat similar on the outside. The difference, of course, is in arousal- a gay man wants a man and a man's body, not a woman with a plastic dildo. It's not at all reminiscent of a real flesh-and-blood penis, particularly when it comes to other fun acts, like fellatio. A man cannot provide a lesbian with some preferred activities she likes- being able to perform cunnilingus, for instance. "Tossing a man's salad" is not the same as eating out a woman.
Basically, people have been trying this for a long time, and it never works. Homosexuality means you like the same sex, not the opposite sex trying to approximate your sex.
Hope that helps.

Only a man would think that a strap on would be just like the real thing! ha! I'm not gay, but I can tell u from a PERSON'S standpoint that it's not the same thing for a woman so y would it be for a man? People r not gay by choice, just look in any medical journal or Psych book from the last 20 yrs! They want to marry the person they r attracted to and in love w/! If that person happens to be the same sex as them, then it's still no different of a feeling than u have for a woman being a straight man. It's not all about a person's sexual desires when they get married, it's about thier feelings too! If u think your theory would work, try what the other people said and try pretending a guy is a woman!

Well some people have done that because they are guilt tripped into believing that there's something wrong with being who they are. But you know what happens when you marry someone who you aren't attracted to at all right? It'd be a miserable marriage. Can you imagine being wed to someone who you have no desire for at all?
Gay men are only attracted to men and lesbians are only attracted to women, neither of them is going to want to be married to the opposite gender because they are not attracted to them and probably find the idea of sleeping with them to be a major turn off. Your simplistic and rather crude idea of what sex between two people of the same sex is offensive whether or not you intended it to be that way.
And most people don't marry for the sex, they marry because they are in love and really care about their partner and want to make a life long commitment.

It's not about wanting to get married. It's about wanting to show how much you love the person you are with, and showing that you want to share everything with them.
If a man and a woman can show it this way through being married, I see no reason a man and a man or a woman and a woman can't do no difference.
And why would someone marry someone they didn't love? Why should a gay man marry a woman, if it is only second best? And isn't that lying to the wife, if he has feelings for other men, and not her.

Some people consider that as a solution. Two gay men and two gay women get together. They pair up man-woman. Then it's legal and they can stay with their respective partners.
Of course, that's kinda twisted.
You must remember that it's not about the sex. We want to marry people of the same sex because we love them and want to be with them.
If it was just about the sex, we could just get women to put on str... no, I can't even say that. *shudders*
I love men. I will marry a man. I don't care if we don't even have sex (well, I might...) as long as we are together and love each other.

Not if you're in love with a member of the same sex. The point that you're misisng is this: they love each other. They don't want to get married just for the sex. They could have sex till they're black and blue without being married if they wanted to. But they want a marriage. Commitment. They love each other, and no one else could ever take their partner's place.
It isn't just the sex that we're after.

If straight people really want to get married, why don't they marry someone of the same sex?
A straight man could always buy his husband a fake vagina. A straight woman could just toss her wife salad. I'm not trying to be offensive but you get the best of both worlds that way. You're married and your sexual desires are satisfied.

let them be who they wanna be, its a free country where u can choose ur religion, style, and sexual preference. People like u and i just prefer being with the opposite sex, thats all. Plus, marriage is supposed to be for love, not sex.

Because I don't LOVE someone of the opposite sex.
If an approximation of the sexual activity that you prefer is enough, you must be willing to settle for anything, right? That's exactly what you are trying to suggest that we do.
Sorry, I don't settle for whatever happens to be handy no matter how willing it might be.

because gay people are attracted to members of the same sex. thats like saying, a straight man could easily go gay, because he could always have bum fun with another man?
