None of my friends have had babies and the center Planned Parenthood suggested to me doesnt accept my insurance. I've looked on my insurance site to see who does accept them, but its just a long list of names and addresses. Besides location, how do I pick from them all?

I love my OBGYN. He listens, explains things, and is gentle. I found him by asking around. Ask friends, co-workers, family, etc. This should not be an embarrassing thing to discuss. Every woman over 16 or 18 should be seeing an OBGYN. Good luck!

Have a meeting with a few of the doctors from your list. It gives you a chance to see what they're like and what they specialize in. If you feel comfortable at the meeting, then you should feel comfortable at the examination. If you have trouble talking to the doctor, then chances are you won't be comfortable asking the doctor any questions you may have. And see if any of your friend's have heard anything from them. Just remember if you don't like the doctor you choose, you can always find a new one.

sorry to say, but, that's a chance you'll have to take. if you don't like a doc you chose, feel free to move on to another doc.
