Don't buy a phone on a plan, it's too expensive just get a second hand one. You can get really good second hand ones. Just do the prepaid thing, and tell them you'll pay for some of it out of your pocket money, which should be ok with you if you want one so bad, right?

be persuasive. do things without asking. like just clean up a lot, vaccuum. also, as someone below me said, show them that you wont be on the phone forever. Also, you can try making a deal with them. getting good grades. thats how i got to dye my hair, if i could get 3 honor rolls i could dye my hair, and yess it took like 8 months but worth it. good luck. im getting my phone in april . but i have to pay for it.. another good idea, offer to pay for it.

TEll all your friends to keep constanly calling and calling and calling your house . MY parents will not get me one ( the fact im 11 ) but that shouldnt matter. MY friends are always calling my house and it drives my parent crazy !

Find the cheapest plan you can and bug them until they get it for you. Or do prepaid and offer to pay for the minutes yourself if they buy you the phone.

Make them see that you are responsible. Tell them situations that you might need it for. Say to them "What if there was an emergancy?" and stuff like that. Cell phones can be for emergancy only...(and for your friends. lol)

Tell them that they can check up on you anytime -and that you can call if your in danger.--That's sure to do the trick.
May be also do some extra chores around the house.

show them you're responsible. be nice to them and listen to what they say! also, show that you won't just use the phone to talk to your friends 24/7.

prove to them that your'e responsible enough to have one. but then it may also be money issues, because phone plans can be pretty expensive these days.

explain to them why you need it, like for emergencies, telling them you won't be home till x o' clock, etc. don't say stuff like, "'cause everyone else in school has one."
