Don't they lie though!

Hey, they got 2 tax cuts while the VA Hospitals got 2 budget cuts! Our military hospitals are so bad Bush asked for $40 Million to help rectify the first budget cut the the VA suffered in 2006 of $100 BILLION! And we only had an additional 32,000 wounded!

Hell, Bush asked 40 Million for the hospitals, but he's made 500 new millionaires off of Iraq blood money! Some trade!

$3 1/2 TRILLION added by Bush that you will have to pay, not the rich!

There's only one REAL conservative in Congress who fits that definition today - Ron Paul of Texas.

Among other Republicans, John McCain is among the few who have voted with any regularity against pork barrel spending. He even voted against one of Bush's biggest prized pork barrels, the No Pharmaceutical Company Left Behind bill (Medicare prescription drug program). But of course he also supports the biggest pork barrel of all, the Iraq war.

Nope, if you want real fiscal conservatives, you'll have to go Libertarian.

Barring that, the better alternative would seemingly be - ouch - the Democratic party. It took Clinton 8 years to balance out the mess handed to him by Reagan and Bush Sr. It will probably take the next two Democratic presidents even longer to sort out Bush Jr.'s budget disaster.

Oh, to really answer your question - no, they won't. And here's why.

Because to raise money, you have to spend money. If political donors can't get 100-1000:1 return on their contributions in the form of earmarked spending, why should they keep on giving? Back in the Reagan era, Republicans learned the important lesson that fiscal responsibility is inconsistent with the fiscal giveaways that today's needy corporations expect.

Yes, as soon as we win the war on terror. I am sorry if you don't like it, but wars cost money. I would rather lose every dime I had than to let a damn terrorist kill my countrymen. Freedom is more important than cash. If it takes going back to the bartering system for America to survive, then I am willing to take that chance. We will make it, because it is the American way. Think about what our forefathers did to become the great Nation we are. They didn't have very much money, but kicked the poop out of those who did, and had a better chance a winning. Remember that England was the superpower of the time. It is spirit, and the will to be free from tyranny that caused us to win! And win we did!

No. Even as we speak, they're funding a project to put a webcam onto every person in the U.S., to make sure nobody is having sex outside of marriage.

I'm exaggerating, of course, but this is the kind of cr@p the worst conservatives want to waste money on.

I believe that in the next election cycle the party will undergo a serious face lift. Hopefully it will return to its conservative roots.
