Call the warranty's 800 number and complain. Tell them the salesperson never notified you that the screen is not honored under the service plan. Your salesperson is supposed to notify you this when offering the warranty. If that gets you no where, make a big scene in the store with a manager, majority of the time they will give in.

I would write to the manufacture of the IPOD (Apple ?) to Best Buy Headquarters and customer service on their website. I would describe your issue and that you have a 3 year warranty and Best Buy won't honor it.
Be nice but firm. You get more from sugar and honey than vinegar. Don't give up until you get results.
Good Luck

Sounds like the Attorney General needs to look into this, too. I think that Fry's Electronics and Best Buy both share the same CEO!

They did that to me on my Palm. I never shopped there again. I even had the extra warranty from the store, too. Best Buy has horrible customer service. They love ripping people off on warranties.

I had the same problem with a Motorola cell phone. It wouldn't work on day 2 and they said it had been in water. It hadn't, but what could I do? (I never got another Motorola product.)
By the way, if you buy things at COSTCOs, everything (except computers) is guaranteed for life -- no questions asked.

if it costs the same to repair as the original purchase price, i'd rather just buy a new one. it's much more worth it and you don't know if best buy will get the spot out too.

If management won't help you stage a peaceful protest outside the store informing potential customers of your plight with signage and flyers.
