What role does ethics play in the academic environment?

Little- sorry for the sarcasm.

Students are responsible for not cheating and learning the information in an ethical way (ie not Wikipedia or Spark Notes).

Faculty are responsible for being ethical about their relationships with students. Things that are not okay: telling your student's boyfriend's father about the student's performance in class, sleeping with the student, or grading the student unfairly because s/he is a democrat.
