These teams won an automatic bid to get in but they have to play one more to really get in. Why don't they give that game to some at large bid teams that didn't win their conference?

YES. if the NCAA is going to give "automatic bids" to conference champions, then they should really give them a game in the tourney. The bottom two at-large teams should be in the play-in game.

Winning the MEAC or Mid Con is not the same as finishing 2nd in a power conference overall and losing in the tourney.

Either Illinois, Old Dominion, Arkansas, or Stanford because those were the last four teams into the tournament.
