That's ok, it means you are a kinaesthetic learner (someone who learns while physically doing things). There are several different learning styles and this is yours - no problem.

It just means you are a doodler. I can hear and retain what I am learning just as well if I am doodling as when not. Some teachers or others may find this rude so it is wise to notice if it bothers them. Teachers are only human and may be judgmental and you would not want to offend them.

it means that you are not naturally an auditory learner - you doodle to make you focus. Ask someone to ask you a difficult question and ask them to study your eyes when you think - most people have an area around them that they look at - I always glance up to the upper left - but if i have a piece of paper in front of me I don't = it is just an example of how your thought process works

I've always wondered if what you doodle means anything in particular. I usually doodle circles joined together or cubed boxes. I don't know why, I just do ! And yes, it helps me concentrate better too.

When I'm on the phone even if I dont need to write anything down, if I find a pen I will automatically start drawing patterns on any paper thats lying around, then I regret it afterwards because Ive realised I should'nt have wrote on that piece of paper.

When people talk (or even sometimes when I'm thinking to myself) I spell out the words with slight pressure from each finger against ANYTHING... It's hard to describe, but I do it ALL THE TIME! I "admitted" it to my husband (boyfriend at the time) saying "you know what I do?" and he said HE ALREADY KNEW, which means it's obvious, but I can't stop!

I'll draw kites, stars, trees, chequered boxes, repeating looped scrolls, triangles, pyramids, 3D cubes, horses heads, geometric circles, my name and flowers.
I think it might be something to do with auditory senses. I am trying to learn spanish at the moment and have listened to the tape over and over and over again. It is NOT going in! Yet if I write it down...got it straight away.
Helps me to concentrate I think.
