The best place to have a birthday for a two year old is at your own house. She is familiar with the house and would enjoy having family and friends that she knows. Decorate it to the way you think she would enjoy it. Have fun!!!

why not open your home? children rarely stay in a group when you take them out into public so you run a risk of losing one or more of them if you take them out. and if it is in your home, you dont have to worry about traveling ahead of time to set up.
plus there is something so much nicer about home-birthday parties.
have a dress up party, they are SO fun b/c everyone can come dressed in their own favorite costume. maybe your child doesnt like Dora or princess stuff but another little girl at the party might and it will give her the opportunity to show that.
invite other parents to come too, you will want the help if the party is large and it will be nice to have other adults around. all parents need a support network and this could be a great opportunity for you to establish one!
Good luck and remember ~ you should have just as much fun as your kid!

When i first saw your question, i thought Chuck E. Cheeses right away. But since you said no..... well... i would think a home party for now is the best. I mean.... thats my opinion. Making it fancy when she's only 2 years old is something that she will forget pretty soon. Its kind of like giving a newborn baby all the stuff he ever wanted. he won't remember what he did when he was first born. So like I said, a home party is best for now.
EX: My aunt who thinks she is rich, had this HUGE, and i mean HUGE birthday party when her kids turned 1. They had moon bounces, mazes, performers, ect. The party was more for the people who came and not for her sons. She suffered a huge hole in her wallet. And i could call them up now, and ask them, "do you remember your first birthday party?" the answer would be no.

Are you serious? This makes me want to vomit a little. A. She won't remember, B. She's going to get tired and cranky halfway through then fall asleep, or start wholloping the guests with her newest noise-making toy. How about a mother-daughter day of lessons in self-discipline and realistic entitlement?

We had a Carnival party in our back yard. We hand made signs and made games for the kids to play and gave them tickets for each game they played, then they took the tickets to the prize table and picked out prizes. We had a face painter, (my sister) a tattoo artist (my brother) and a bunch of games. If you are interested in some of the game ideas, send me an email. It was fun for us and the kids. Good luck!
