To actually think that there is no other life like or unlike us among the millions of stars in this vast universe is absurd.
We don't even no of all the life on our own planet. Just last week we discovered fish deep under the ocean in Antarctica that we never knew existed.

Of course not. If only one-millionth of all the planets in just this galaxy alone had life on them, that would still mean hundreds of thousands of life-bearing planets. And since this galaxy is one out of billions of galaxies....well, do the math.

Certainly not; however, the other intelligent life may be so far beyond our comprehension that they would have neither motive nor desire to contact us or be found by us.... Think the "Q Continuum" from Star Trek....

On the other hand, if you believe all the UFO enthusiasts - they have already been here; we may even be their descendants!

Take your pick!

The consensus among astrobiologists is -- no. Then again, the consensus among astrobiologists is that there is no intelligent life beyond Earth. Microbes, perhaps, but not civilization. Otherwise, it's argued, our SETI projects would have been inundated with intelligent radio signals already.
