He noted she was gone at night.....she had a part time job working the grave yard shift at the local 7/11. Not to worry, she'll be back around 6 AM.

Personally, I think that it greatly depends on how the weather was when she was there. In some relationships, where one is insecure, and in constant need of attention, alot of stress can be created, especially when it is coupled with control issues. In this case, "when she's gone" may be the first time the sun shines in a long time! But in a good relationship that ends, a void is created and the dark clouds come. But only when the clouds come and the rain falls, are we able to grow.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone ....
this house just aint no home... anytime she goes away...
it would seem she goes away often and he never knows if she's gone for good or not .....
the song never says where she goes but i would assume she is off with another man ..... who knows ????
I have the version by Ottis Redding but I'm not sure if that is the original or not ..... anyway , it's a catchy tune : )

The sun is somewhere, waiting...darkness all day and night, Northern winter...and the the spring again...everything in bright light, 24 h/day...everlasting cycle of darkness and light, repeating itself in a secure way...one only has to thrust on this cycle.
Where? Somewhere to find light? Different kind of light? She may find it somewhere or understands that light is everywhere - it only depends on the circumstances...
