In case you didn't know,that's a lyric from "Sympathy For The Devil". Did anything like that really happen? If not,what,if anything,is that lyric a euphemism for?

Hes using metaphors for describing wars and conflict in history to demonstrate satans influence over people.Yes,in the song he is describing real history were there was much bloodshed,which would make anyone wonder if the devil had influence.

Maybe it's a reference to how the kids of the 60's were duped. More figurative times back then, I suspect.

well, a troubador is a singer . who knows what mick and keith were thinking , unless the troubadors would spread messages ,possibly to an enemy through their songs.
