I think you are over reacting. It has been proven that tanning beds do not reallt "cook your insides" like people used to think they did. It is not recommended that pregnant women use them, but it shouldnt hurt the baby at such an early stage in pregnancy.
It's good that you are so concerned though.

For starters you have to remember that above all this is her body, so if she is in denial there isn't a lot you can do but sit her down and talk to her about the serious risks she is playing with. Telling her that you are really concerned, talking to another one of her friends about it, or even consulting a councilor or doctor may help you to get through to her.
You can not just tell her not to tan, or that you think she is pregnant and force her to pee on the stick. Sadly she is just going to have to come to terms with it in her own time.
Best of luck, hopefully she listens to you, because you are right to be concerned. Although the effects of tanning in a tanning bed on a fetus are not completely known it is generally understood that it's not the healthiest thing to do with your body, or your unborn baby.

tanning beds cause cancer to your skin. also an allergic reaction to the sun. you will get sun poisening when you go out after years of tanning beds. It is really best to know if you are pregnant and get your first doctors visit in fast. incase there is a problem with the baby. If it comes back not posative, then great. But you need to know.

Yes it is harmful if she is pregnant. She needs to take
a test and make sure she isn't pregnant. She may be
late because of the new birth control but its better to
be safe then sorry.

Sorry Sweet, tanning doesn't do anything, but give her leathery skin. Sometimes starting new birth control makes your period alittle wacky, so just calm down. But besides forcing her to pee on the stick, your just going to have to leave it to her. Even if she is pregnant, there is nothing you can do to make her stop tanning and go get a pregnancy test. Relax.

hi,
i worked at a tanning salon for two years, adn it was illegal for us to allow pregnant women to use tanning beds or standups. the UV rays are harmful to the baby, and she should not be using the bed, for her sake, her babies sake, adn if telling her that doesn't work, the salon can get in a lot of trouble for allowing her to tan there

tanning itself will not hurt a fetus, but the temperature around the fetus is a constant 98.6 degrees. if she is tanning in the middle of the day when it is hot, it could in turn make the temperature around the baby increase. if she is going to tan, she should do it in the morning or evening when it is cooler outside.

yes, uv radiation can harm the baby, plus anything else she is doing like drinking alcohol can severely damage the baby. Make her take the test.
