Nice....very nice..... Luke is great for either a child or a man.
If you don't like nicknames then using Lucas still has a really nice sound to it. It's different enough but doesn't sound invented. It's an easy name for a kid to spell and for them to say. There will not be a ton of them out there with the same name. and
If he didn't like the name when he got older, he could use Jake.
That's a hot name right now and appeals to me too.

I don't like Lucas Jacob as much as Jacob Lucas. Both are good strong names for a baby boy.

IT sounds like you are trying to shove 2 first names into one. It does not flow well. I agree with the few people above who said Jacob Lucas sounds better.
