Anyone know good ways to get rid of slugs?

put out some small shallow dishes of beer...they are attracted to them....climb in and drink and drown....good luck

I wanted to let you know how prevalent your problem is: I was recently lunching on an uninhabited island off the coast of Costa Rica. A lady from Washington State and I exchanged solutions for this problem. Putting beer in saucers, though time consuming to do, seems to be the only thing that works! Good luck----

Here's a fun one:

Put out a small dish or cup of beer, one the slugs can get into. They instantly sense it and come (running?sliming?sliding?) to it. They drown in the beer.

Beer, if you're a naturalist, like me. Actually that will attract them, then they drown. I cut the bottom off of a dixie cup and set that out with some beer in it.

Or there's some nasty pesticides at Home Depot...

Step on them with your bare feet..... ooooh yuck!

They will go into a shallow dish of beer and drown. But I like salt because it kills them fast. It is cool watching them wiggle around in pain when you put salt on them. They dry up and then you can sweep them away.

Yuck. I once stepped on one barefooted when I was a kid. It was so hard to remove. And it was also the last time I went out in my backyard without any slippers. Yuck!!

but I always enjoyed pouring salt on it and watching them melt. I know. I know...its cruel. Bu they are a pest.

We use Safer's Slug bait. Seems to work pretty good.

i bought misilaneous tea cups from yard sales, pretty ones that i liked . they were put through my flower and vegtable gardens. fill them with beer. they love beer . they crawl in and drown. of course this could be considered alchlhol abuse.
