i think you should look up metaphors- you can't really write one about the jonas brothers babies food blah blah blah. it's a deeper thing. you need to think of a tangible for an intangible like ....uhm.. the moon is like love or somethign (don't use that one it's stupid) the moon is the tangible, love is the intangible. the moon needs to represent love in some way- let me think of a better example to explain metaphors....have you seen Forrest Gump? "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get" that's a metaphor.

love is a good intangible to use- some other good ones are friendship, going through hard times, conformity, etc. get creative with it.

p.s.- i just read the one below me. Scooter Libby is a scapegoat is not a metaphor- that's two tangibles. well a scapegoat is sort of a an intangible scooter libby actually is a scapegoat- it's not a metaphor it's just literally describing scooter libby.

"all the world's a stage and people merely players"
~Shakespear (this may be paraphrased)

He is so cool!

Scooter Libby was a scape goat

that's all I got for now. I suggest you ask your teacher for additional help if you don't understand. Wikipedia has a good article on metaphors

Metaphor directly compares two or more things.
1. She is the apple of my eye
2. He is my shining star
3. A comfortable sofa is fertile soil for the couch potato
4. He is a big baby
5. Her skin is softer than silk

Actually, Her skin is softer than silk is not a metaphor. It would have to be Her skin is silk. Anyway, here are the ones I can think of:
My heart longs for you.
I breathed the trees the surrounded me.
I can feel your pain.
The words caressed me, keeping me safe in their embrace. (This one is a multiple metaphor)

These are the ones I can think of for now.
