Ok. Here's another psycologic choice. You and your friend are in a desert. No sign of water can be seen and you know that your friend is diabetic and soon he will need his/her medication. To make matters worse your friend has a wounded leg and it takes him twice as long to travel as fast as you. You have two choices. You can keep up at this pace and try to make it to survival OR you can tell your friend to wait here and that you'd come back for him knowing that if you where to walk on you could make it to a particular distance twice as quick as you's would together. By making your choice it could result in your friend being lost or you both may never get out of the desert. One thing is for sure you have to rely on your instincts. (This is a test used in psycology).

Ok, its seems a good idea to leave your friend and find help faster, but what if your friend died waiting for you, how would you survive knowing you had left your friend in the state that he was in. Diabetes is a serious illness and life threatening if left untreated. I think I would stay with him and risk the twice along walk, rather than leave him to suffer alone.

Awesome test.. Great test and question. I guess i think i would know if i was in that situation. I mean seriously, my friend is basically dying and will probably not be able to walk so fast to get his/her medication. I think i would have just taken them with me for a little distance but then i would get so fed up so i would just leave them there, get help as soon as i can by running to some place. It's bad leaving my friend there but my other choice would be definitely having my friend with me all along. If he/she dies and im still alive because i was selfish enough, i would be living with that bad thought for ever. I would die along with him/her, leaving him/her is distressing and he/she needs me perhaps in that situation. So i guess i was sitting on the fence just then, i would definitely stay with my mate.

Have a nice day!

What is the point in staying there? I could start running whilst he is waiting and relaxing (because he will feel even worse when running due to his diabetes) and try to find some plant with sugar in or so, some desert plant and also try to get help.
The chances in both situations are 50/50.

I would leave them and try and get help. To stay is to almost guarantee they will get worse. slow you down more, even stop you completely before you reach safety, at least this way you both have a chance.

I would leave the friend in a shady spot (even if I had to dig one out). I would make sure they had matches and rubber to send up a signal...

I would than hightail it to that spot and bring back help ASAP.

Even if it meant that I might lose my friend, we wouldn't both die and would in fact, have a better fighting chance for survivial.

What friend?
I would tell the person to follow my trail. If I was able to get help I'd come back with it along my trail. Good luck.

I think I would leave him and I would go as fast as I could to ask for help. But I wouldn't go to the desert in the first place,I hate sand and heat.

I'm with Happy Trucker on this (although I'm not strong enough to carry them - I'd certainly help them along!!!!)

If his medication were injections you wouldn't have to worry about the water for taking medication..........and a responsible diabetic would have taken ample supplies to survive the trip!!
