I agree. It gets better. You grow closer and bare your soul more as you get older and create more intimacy. There is a reason I call her my better half; she is a part of me.

I can safely say most married guys I know get very, very little sex. They are all over 40 and have been married 15-25 years.

I know, I know, virtually all of the women here on Yahoo say they boink their husbands 19 times a day and it just gets better and better, but that's just not the case out in the rest of the world.

The average married couple says they have sex 1-4 times a month. And many say they go months, even years, without sex. I am pulling data from WebMD as an example. The sex therapist there says people go 15 years in a sexless marriage before they go completely nuts and seek help without the sexless spouse.

It's great that every woman here is some horny sex-crazed nympho who bangs her man 3 times a day and 4 on Sunday, but out in the real world, that is simply not what is happening.

I read through the interesting, and sometimes clueless responses. I can be the devil's advocate on this one. I've been married 25 years, and the last 5 or 6 have been very painful. I have been abandoned by my wife. I love her, but she has simply chosen everything else in her life over me. I don't think she even loves me anymore. Spare me your tips, I've tried everything from counseling, trips, dates, gifts to no avail. It's just gone. I'm glad some of you are happy, I wish I was too. Everyone has their own reasons for staying, and they're all unique. I know I have mine. It was interesting how some people find this hard to comprehend.

How about one thing you probably haven't seen in the answers to your question yet? What about due to a promise made when you say your wedding vows? If your spouse develops a disability during marriage that prevents them from providing that one small pleasure that everyone desires so much does that mean you can stop loving them and divorce them? A marriage and love don't necessarily require sex. You can hold onto that feeling for a lifetime(even if the intimacy you share is short term) if your love is truly your bond in marriage. If you think you couldn't love someone if they couldn't provide you the sexual gratification then it would be better to have one night stands or pay for sex as needed. It's great that your marriage can be fulfilling, just keep in mind what for better or worse really means.

A totally sexless marriage? didn't know that was possible. I mean, barring paralyzing accidents or impotence, why be sexless? Even with paralysis and stuff there can still be certain types of sex. Guess this one is so totally beyond me, that I don't get it. Sorry and wow.

Yeah right, you're 14 and know that it will be like that because you demand right? Keep a print out of your statement and see how condescending, patronizing and sanctimonious it looks in 23 years!

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been married 20 years and it just gets better and better.
