This bear keeping hanging around our house doing bear things. Invading the bins and scaring people. Apart from that hes a friendly little guy. His homeland was destroyed to make way from a football stadium. Its sad I know. Should we take the bear in as a pet.

No...it is illegal in most states to keep wild animals and even when legal, it requiires sppecial permits taht are costly.
Poor bear.. best to call someone and have the bear relocated to a safe habitat area before "someone" winds up shooting it or it causes serious problems.

NOOO WAY MAN OR WOMAN!!! it's actually bad for both of you the reason its bad for u is that the bear could harm u in some way and the reason its bad for the bear is that wild animals need space to live ALOT of space and if the bear had to go back for some reason it may not be able to hunt any more because you just would have giving him food.Just give him to a ZOO or some thing they will take good care of him.Bears dont hate people they just get pissed or get scared did you no that the bear is scared of you too!!

NO. BAD IDEA.

These are not big cuddly stuffed animals that will take food out of your hand, and follow you like a little duckling. These are big, powerful animals that can BITE YOUR HAND RIGHT OFF, swat you with one paw and KNOCK YOU ACROSS THE YARD, and in general do an amazing amount of damage in very little time, including killing you.

If you feed the bear even once, he will be back for more. If you feed him again, he will associate you and all humans with food. When he's hungry and you're not feeding him, he may very well come in looking for food. At that point, you may literally die. The bear WILL die. He's become a pest, and the local animal control, police, or DNR will probably have to shoot him.

The rangers at Yellowstone National Park have a policy regarding bears. If they are fed by humans even once, they need to be relocated. If they are fed by humans 3 times, they are usually shot and killed, because their experience has shown that at this point, the bears will turn into dangerous pests.

You may not have the ability to keep this bear alive. You certainly have the ability to guarantee his death - and that would be by trying to feed him or adopt him.

I would get in touch with a zoo or ranger, there are people who deal with this kind of thing all of the time, and they will deal with the bear without causing it any harm. I wouldnt want a bear to turn on me and tear me into tiny pieces with its huge claws and teeth, they are normally aggressive and even though it appears tame, it is still a wild animal that cant be tamed and you shouldnt try to either, it could end in disaster.
The best kind of bear to keep as a pet would be the stuffed teddy bear kind....you're likely to live a long time with one of those living in your home, I dread to think what your life expectancy would be if you took in a real life bear for a pet....!
Hope this helps x

Are you an idiot?!? NO "adopting" a bear is NOT a good idea he is a WILD animal and no you can't domesticate it..Dogs and Cats took thousands of years to domesticate so save yourself the trouble because you won't have a very great pet once you start having mysterious disappearences of all the neighborhood children and pets...Call your local game and wildlife and have them relocate the bear...

Bears are not house pets there not backyard pets either. You should find a park where they keep wild animals that would be best for you and the bear.

Don't know where you live, but in U.S. you need to talk to wildlife conservation people about him.. Maybe they could relocate him to a better, safer place. And NO do not make him a pet. It is very unfair to him and you. He needs to be wild and live his natural bear life, and you need a pet that will not grow up to eat you! Please let the authorities know, you will be doing the bear the biggest favor you could give him.

Not a good plan for either of you. You become attached and that's not healthy for
both of you. Bears have natural instincts. The kindest thing you can do is call a
Zoo or talk to the humane society to see what they have to say. Good luck. Sounds like you're already attached.

NO! A bear is a wild animal and should be left in the wild to be happy. They can turn on you at anytime without notice or provocation. Best to ask the county to help you trap and relocate him. good luck and stay safe
