They say they hate the paparrazi, but in reality, if they really did, then why not date someone that media cares nothing about. Then see, your chances of being followed around would be slim.

First of all, if they're working they're around celebs all day. Second, I heard that a non-celeb wouldn't understand what a celeb goes through.

JFK Jr. dated some non-celebs (and some celebs, too). Even his wife, Carolyn, couldn't deal with being followed around by media--as she was not a celeb.

Though your point is logical, here, it doesn't always apply. You're in a different sphere now. You're also aware of more that could happen. When you're with someone on par you know what to expect more or less, worse comes to worse you're in a defensible position. With an unknown variable you may not know what to make of it or what the person is about. Appearances are unreliable.

Alot of celebrities have non celebrity partners.

Rosie Odonell
Katherine Heigl
Ellen Pompeo
Oprah
Gisele Bundchen

They do become sort of like celebrities though because of the publicity they get!

It would be hard to find someone who wasn't a celeb to understand how demanding it is while they are filming something or on tour. Then they also know that the person they are dating also really likes them and isn't only dating them because they are a celeb.

They don't always date celebrities but those who do usually say it is because they can relate to each other better and know what being a celebrity takes so they understand.

I think it's because when you are a celebrity, you lead a very different life. And so to date someone who understands that and also leads the same type of life, would be easier.

Because if they date someone who isn't a celebrity, they think that unkown person will stalk him/her. Dating is getting to know somebody better. Since that celebrity doens't know that unknown person yet, who knows if this unfamous person will tell who he/she is dating and one of his/her friends can hate that celebrity so much will kill this person.

i THINK THEY DO THAT BECAUSE THEY WANT MONEY AND IF THE DATE NON-FAMOUS PEOPLE THE PEOPLE MIGHT NOT WANT THAT MUCH PUBLICITY OR THEY DONT WANT ANY AND WANT TO BE ALONE! i THINK IT IS UNFAIR TO THE CELEBS CUZ THEY CANT HAVE A REAL, QUIET DATE WITHOUT PEOPLE FOLLOWING THEM AROUND
